Now that school's been back for a while, everyone Now that school's been back for a while, everyone else at that 3:30pm "MUMMMM I'm STARVING" moment? ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ 

They barrel through the door, running on empty after barely-touched lunchboxes and a full day of school energy burn. Those processed biscuits start calling their name.... but what if we spent just a little time thinking ahead, and had nourishing options ready that actually fill them up?

This year, I created (yet another) fridge checklist - and honestly itโ€™s saving my sanity. 

The trick? The kids help make the list.
They help choose what goes on it, and when they get home they pick from the list.

Less decision fatigue.
Less arguing.
More ownership.

First, I always re-offer their lunchbox (they usually groan ๐Ÿ˜…), but they can choose something fresh from the list too. It keeps things interesting, gets more nutrients in, and kids are far more likely to say yes when they feel part of the decision.

After-School Snack Winners

โœ… Chia pod (chia + maple syrup + milk + banana) - make ahead
โœ… Homemade sausage rolls (freezer heroes) - dinner leftovers
โœ… Greek yoghurt + berries + honey 
โœ… Banana smoothie (2 mins, blender magic)
โœ… Hard-boiled eggs + cucumber sticks + walnuts + cheese
โœ… Toast with peanut butter + banana slices (+ cinnamon if they like it)
โœ… Rice cakes + cream cheese + cucumber + tomato
โœ… Crackers + cherry tomatoes + cheese cubes
โœ… Veggie sticks + hummus or cream cheese
โœ… Apple slices + peanut butter + raisins
โœ… Banana "nice cream" (frozen banana bliss)
โœ… Meat sticks + crackers + cheese
โœ… Banana or chocolate zucchini muffins (freeze and defrost)
โœ… Rainbow fruit platter ๐ŸŒˆ
โœ… Frozen yoghurt berry bites

Snacks with protein, fibre and healthy fats help keep kids fuller for longer and keep their energy more steady through the afternoon.

Toys everywhere. Kitchen bench buried. Your wardrobe feeling like a stranger. Your kids wardrobes overflowing with clothes that don't fit them anymore? Pantry that has things in there you can't remember even buying. 

I feel you my friend. 

And I don't know about you, but making a start on decluttering when life already feels so full, kinda feels impossible and overwhelming. 

But, what if we made it tiny? 15 minutes per spot to make it achievable.

Over the past few weeks, I have been slowly tackling my own home.

My top 5 spots to start the year off fresh (pick one to kick off with, that's your win):
 ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ“ Kitchen bench: Clear the chaos, keep only daily essentials. Wipe it down. Meal prep suddenly feels lighter.
 ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ‘œ Entryway madness: Shoes, bags, umbrellas - one "grab and go" basket. Mornings less frantic.
 ๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿ“ฆ Kids' toy overwhelm: Two boxes - love it or donate it. Let them help for 10 mins.
 ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ‘– Wardrobe reality check: Pull out 5 outfits you haven't worn in the last 12 months. Pass them on. Dressing becomes joy.
 ๐Ÿฅซ๐Ÿฅ• Pantry/fridge refresh: Bin expired jars, stock what nourishes. Meal prep feels fresher.

The gift? Clear space = clear mind. You don't need a showroom home - just one corner that hugs you back. No perfection, just progress.

January whispers "new year, new you" - but if you' January whispers "new year, new you" - but if you're like me juggling work, school runs, lunchboxes, dinner prep, and that never ending mental load....what if we skipped the overwhelm? 

Picture this: instead of piling on 10 resolutions you'll forget by next week, what if you chose one gentle word to guide you through the year, a permission slip - no lists, no pressure required.

Mine this year? Abundance.

It reminds me there is enough time (or I can create more), even in the morning rush. Enough patience to breathe through the tantrums. Enough energy to get through my days, especially the long, stressful ones. Enough of me to go around - even on the hard days. And more than enough available of whatever me and my family needs and wants. 

Yours might be "breathe", "enough", "space", or "joy" - or whatever your heart is craving most right now.

Here's how to find it (5 minutes, max):
โ˜• Sit with your morning coffee (or hide in the car!)
โœจ Ask: "What do I want to feel more of this year?" 
๐Ÿ“ Let a word float up - no forcing it.
๐Ÿ“ Write it somewhere you'll see it: fridge, mirror, phone wallpaper, laptop

When chaos hits, whisper it like a mantra. 

You're already showing up this year, smiling even when youโ€™re exhausted, overstimulated, and doing more than anyone sees. 
This word isn't about doing more.
It's about being more you. 
Embodying what you want and who you need to be to feel that.

During my recent trip to Sydney, I was so surprise During my recent trip to Sydney, I was so surprised to receive the cutest Charlieโ€™s Goodie Bag from @charliessafetreatbox packed with allergy-friendly, and and healthier snack options!

As a parent of a child with anaphylaxis, finding snacks that are not only safe but also nutritious and enjoyable is always a priority. 

It was such a pleasure discovering this small business founded by a passionate mum Sharon Gilbert, who started this business after her son Charlie was diagnosed with multiple life-threatening food allergies as a baby.  After suffering an anaphylactic reaction at daycare, leading to a hospital stay, she found that the hospital food on offer was ridden with the allergens that Charlie was allergic to and the food court provided no safe options.  This sparked the idea to create a safe space to access food and snacks that are free from the top 10 allergens, driven by their mission to providing individuals and families living with food allergies a sense of security and freedom in their dietary choices.

Not only that - the food choices on offer are healthier alternatives, safe and delicious as well! Right up our alley.

My kids were so excited when I got home - their personal favourite was @ginas__table Happles freeze dried apple bites dusted with raspberry powder. I tried them too and they were really yum.
