When I had a baby recently, I became even more conscious about what products I would use on my precious little one to get her started in life in the healthiest possibly way.
There is a plethora of baby products on the market, especially for nappy creams; many of them chemically based – containing Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Linalyl Acetate to name a few.
The MSDS’ (material safety data sheets) for these ingredients state to varying degrees that these ingredients are hazardous in case of skin or eye contact (irritant), repeated or prolonged exposure can produce target organ damage, may cause respiratory tract irritation, are a combustible liquid and vapour, causes severe skin irritation and possible burns.
How can these ingredients appear in baby (and adult) products readily available on our shopping shelves?
Let’s start and continue to make better purchasing decisions for ourselves and our little ones.
Aromababy’s Barrier Balm enriched with organic evening primrose, vitamin e and calendula oils is my nappy barrier balm of choice. It’s also great for dry spots, eczema, flaky skin and cracked nips during breastfeeding.
I use it for my dry lips (amazing moisture!) and the rest of the family can use it for sunburn / windburn.
Our recommendation: Aromababy Barrier Balm available from www.aromababy.com.
